ChatGPT Prompt "Summons Experts", Dall-E 3 Unveiled, Bard's Upgrade, Salesforce's Generative AI Survey
Fantastic ChatGPT Prompt, OpenAI announced that Dall-E 3 integrates with ChatGPT, Bard now integrates with Google's applications, and Salesforce's survey shows that few people are using generative AI.
Fantastic ChatGPT Prompt Summons “Expert Agents” For You
Synaptic Labs created a fantastic prompt for ChatGPT, which essentially inverts the prompting process.
Instead of specifying everything you need in a prompt, ChatGPT will “summon expert agents” who will tell you everything they need instead. This ensures nothing falls through the cracks in your request, which is important, as many of us are using ChatGPT for stuff we aren't the most knowledgable about.
YouTuber Goda Go explained how this works quite well.
One word of advice, use the /save command every now and then. This prompt moves a lot of data back and forth, and ChatGPT will act up once you exceed your token limit.
OpenAI Unveils Dall-E 3 & Integrates it With ChatGPT
OpenAI unveiled Dall-E 3, a major update to their text to image model. There are some solid threads comparing Dall-E vs their competitor Midjourney, but the most important advantage could be Dall-E’s new operating system.
Midjourney uses Discord for image generation, while Dall-E has previously used the same playground as their GPT large language model. You might recall that when GPT-3 was in OpenAI’s playground, nobody really used it.
Then, OpenAI released a far simpler operating system, ChatGPT.
Notice how interest for OpenAI surged once ChatGPT was unveiled. Would it be crazy if Midjourney users move away once Dall-E is on ChatGPT?
My bet is that they will, as OpenAI’s demo shows just how convenient ChatGPT is for generating images.
Even if Midjourney creates better looking images (which seems debatable), OpenAI's convenience, coupled with scale (ChatGPT's 100 million users vs Midjourney's 16 million users) could give OpenAI a major advantage.
Bard Now Connects to Apps & Services
Google leveled up their ChatGPT competitor Bard. By integrating Bard with Google apps and services, Bard can pull data from Gmail, Docs, Drive, and more, making tasks like trip planning or job application a breeze.
Planning a Grand Canyon trip? Bard can fetch dates from Gmail, check flights, and even suggest YouTube videos for your itinerary. Are you job hunting? Just ask Bard to pull your resume from Drive and help draft that cover letter. And for the skeptics, there's a "Google it" button to double-check Bard's answers.
But that “Google it” function may not always be accurate, either.
With 1.8 billion Gmail users, Bard has a clear competitive advantage. Hopefully for us users, Google's innovation pushes OpenAI to innovate faster as well. Perhaps this is why Open AI announced that Dall-E is integrating with ChatGPT.
Salesforce Survey: Only 16% of Professionals Use Generative AI Daily
Salesforce surveyed over 4k people on the generative AI landscape. Their survey revealed that only 49% of professionals have used generative AI, and over one-third of those professionals use it daily. Based off of that math, then, only 16% of professionals use generative AI daily.
They shared some other stats as well:
65% of generative AI users are Millenials or Gen Z
68% of non-users are Gen X or Baby Boomers
88% are unclear how generative AI will impact their life
While it’s not shocking that older generations are less receptive of new technology, it is surprising that only 16% of professionals use generative AI on a daily basis. Even more interesting, 88% of respondents are unclear how this tool will impact their life.
Perhaps the internet had similar adoption issues and skepticism at this stage. One thing is for sure, any professional who has adopted this has a big competitive advantage over most of their colleagues.
