Yeah this is pretty huge news. I know there's been a lot of speculation on why now but I really am thinking it has to do with a mix of the AI company burning a billion dollars pretty regularly, along with the SpaceX IPO. It actually makes sense.

So many articles attacked this acquisition, and I get why. Elon has a major conflict of interest, just like the SolarCity deal.

But what if Elon's right? What if xAI's burn will go down substantially if Elon can build data centers in space affordably? If anyone can figure it out, it's him, and the upside would be enormous.

He has definitely been wrong in the past, but investors make a fortune when he's right. That's why they keep giving him money.

listen i am 100% onboard for in space data centers.

i love to see this years sci-fi become tomorrows reality.

no one thought he’d land rockets, and now his companies carriers 90% of the worlds cargo into space.

he might get bad PR at times, but the push on innovation and science is real. 🔥

If it truly becomes cheaper building data centers in outer space than on planet Earth, that's an indictment on all of the red tape we have for building power plants and building more data centers.

The fact this is even a consideration should be damning enough, I really hope our politicians wake up.
